How It Works
IntelliSession first transcribes the full session recording, then uses that transcript along with the client's previous therapy notes to generate a new note. Because it can review the entire session, IntelliSession can identify clinically relevant details, track recurring themes, and capture important moments automatically.
Benefits of a Full Session Recording
Uploading a full session recording is the most comprehensive input method IntelliSession offers. Compared with dictated summaries, text summaries, or handwritten notes, it provides:
More accurate, complete notes. IntelliSession works from what was actually said during the session instead of relying on memory afterward, which reduces the chance that important details will be missed or mischaracterized.
Less work after the session. You do not need to write or dictate a separate summary. Simply record the session and let IntelliSession do the rest.
Stronger continuity across sessions. With access to the full conversation, IntelliSession can identify recurring themes, track progress toward treatment goals, and highlight clinically significant language.
Richer clinical context. Nuances such as how a client describes an experience or how topics shift over time can be reflected in the note, creating a more complete clinical record.

FAQs
Is My Client's Audio Stored?
No. IntelliSession deletes audio immediately after transcription. The recording is used only to create the transcript and is not retained on our servers.
Does the Client Need to Consent to Being Recorded?
Yes. You must obtain the client's informed consent before recording any session. If you need a template, you can use our client consent form. If a client does not want to be recorded, you can use one of the following input methods instead:
Can I Record Directly in IntelliSession?
Yes. You can use the built-in recorder in the note creation dialog to record the session in real time. You do not need a separate recording app.
Can I Upload Both a Recording and a Text Summary?
Yes. You can attach both audio and text when generating a note.
If you have already attached audio, click the + icon to add another input. A new input box will appear below the audio input.
Switch the lower box to the Text tab and add your text summary. This is useful when you want to include context that was not part of the recorded session, such as pre-session observations or post-session reflections.
