How It Works
IntelliSession first transcribes your dictation, then uses it together with the client's prior therapy notes to generate a new note. Your dictation can be as brief or as detailed as you like.
Benefits of a Dictated Summary Instead of a Full Recording
The main benefit of dictating a session is greater client privacy, since the session is not recorded and client consent is not required. Note: Your dictation must not include any identifying information about the client. See here.
Although IntelliSession is fully HIPAA compliant, recording the client may be a concern in some situations:
When a client is uncomfortable with the session being recorded and does not provide consent
When working with children and you feel that recording is not appropriate, even with parental or child consent
Drawbacks of a Dictated Summary Instead of a Full Recording
A full session recording still offers several advantages over a dictated summary:
IntelliSession has access to the full context of the therapy session and can identify the relevant details on its own, saving you the time and effort of dictating them
It can also be more accurate and comprehensive, since details are less likely to be forgotten or misrepresented than they might be in a dictated summary
